"Art is a line around your thoughts." — Gustav Klimt

An artist sketches
by putting a line
around an idea,
blending space and shape,
sensuality and imagination,
a flowing curve, a shaded corner,
a sloping spine.
It is the pencil lines
that embellish the artist's vision
with passion and abandonment,
the smoothness, the perfection —
no matter how imperfect the model may feel,
the artist glorifies her essence.

The artist draws on intuition,
the definition,
outlined with clarity,
distinctively,
interpretation of her reality,
the sharpness, the sculpted,
freely ambiguous,
tenderly flawed,
her many lines
that flow, zig, and cross
into a sensual form
that embodies her spirit
and reveals her beauty.
