More significantly, due to the predominance of recognition of ADHD in males, women have been misdiagnosed with alternative conditions like anxiety, depression, bipolar, and borderline personality disorders, all of which may indeed be present but are often caused or exacerbated by undiagnosed and untreated ADHD.
