In the early morning
I hear the sounds
of the goddess Gaia
The ocean echoes her love songs
The waves ripple with energy
and carry her heroes
who bob and weave
through cresting waters

I am lucky
to have found this moment
I don’t need a camera
to record it
I am part of Gaia’s
swirling clouds
and the rows of gulls
that circle the sky

I am the tugboat
with her warning horn,
the seals who swim backward,
and the sandpipers who scurry
in crowds
I am the salty air
that breathes new life,
freeing me
of mundane struggles
and needless worries

Gaia is who I worship —
above and below.
She is the mother who clothes
our souls,
loves and protects,
and keep us safe
like Dylan sang—
sheltered from the storm.
