NATURE/HEALING POETRY

Where Space Engulfs Time

That’s where I find refuge

“If we want peace,
we have to be peace.
Peace is a practice,
not a hope.”
— Thich Nhat Hahn

I’m lucky to know
where to find peace

some people
look in the wrong places

others hide from it

while many don’t care

but I know where
to find a refuge

I know where
my sanctuary is

far removed
from hectic crowds

not close
to fame or fortune

it is by the sea
where it has always been

it is where
the gulls, egrets, and pelicans fly

swirling in the airflow
of the blue skies

where space engulfs time

where breathing
is slow and easy

thoughts move with the tides

tranquility greets you
in gentle waves
